A Heritage Luxury Stay in the Heart of Singapore’s Cultural District
First Impressions
Arrival Experience
Arriving into the InterContinental Singapore, I was reminded once again of its unique blend of sleek modernity and heritage charm. It had been about 5 years since my last visit. The check-in was smooth and welcoming as you expect at this standard. The concierge team went above and beyond with assistance in locating nearby medical advice for an urgent prescription early one morning! Our thanks to all the team and duty managers during our stay.
Lobby and Décor
The lobby combines contemporary elegance with rich Peranakan heritage influences, reflected in intricate carvings, rich tapestries, and heritage-inspired furnishings. Natural light floods the space, creating an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere. It’s a seamless fusion of old and new that perfectly represents Singapore’s cosmopolitan spirit.

I stayed in the Classic King Room, a tastefully appointed space approximately 32 m² in size. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light and offer lovely city views as well as a view over the pool area below. The InterContinental’s signature bed proved to be wonderfully comfortable, with a pillow menu allowing a choice of sleep preferences. The bathroom is well-appointed with designer toiletries, a rain shower, and plush bathrobes enhancing the stay’s indulgence.
